I am a postdoctoral researcher at the JFK Institute at the Freie Universität, Berlin, where I am part of the project "Savings Banks and Public Credit Institutions: A Historical and Comparative Perspective," led by Sebastian Kohl (FU) and Éric Monnet (PSE).

I received my Ph.D. in Political Science from MIT. My research focuses on the intersection of welfare policy, finance, and inequality. My book project, "Forging Financial Citizenship: How States Organized Mass Savings in Europe and the United States," studies how and why the institutions through which people developed differently over the course of the nineteenth century, with enduring legacies to this day.  

My work has been generously supported by the Center for European Studies at Harvard University, the Horowitz Foundation for Social Policy, and the Law and Political Economy Project at the Harvard Law School.
